Our Story
Where Research Meets Action
EcoVerde Institute was founded on a simple belief: understanding the natural world is the first step toward protecting it. Born from a passion for wildlife, field research, and conservation, the Institute was created to help bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and meaningful action.
Research can reveal how species and ecosystems are changing, identify the pressures they face, and provide the evidence needed to develop better solutions. But its greatest impact comes when that knowledge reaches beyond the page and contributes to conservation in the real world.
Our roots are grounded in wildlife research and the study of the complex relationships between people, animals, and the environments they share. From biodiversity and wildlife trade to habitat conservation, human-wildlife interactions, and environmental governance, these experiences shaped a broader vision for an organization where science, conservation, education, and collaboration come together.EcoVerde Institute was established to pursue that vision.
Our work is not defined by a single species, ecosystem, or geographic boundary. We seek out research questions and conservation challenges where science can make a meaningful difference, working alongside researchers, students, communities, conservation organizations, and other partners. We are equally committed to creating opportunities for the next generation of conservationists.
By supporting research, field experience, education, and collaboration, we hope to inspire curiosity, strengthen scientific understanding, and empower others to become active participants in protecting the natural world. This is where research becomes action and where knowledge becomes a force for conservation.
